Egypt's Alcotexa sells 625 T of cotton in past week

CAIRO (Reuters) - The Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) said on Monday it had committed to sell 625 tonnes of cotton in the week that ended on July 18.

The sales comprised 375 tonnes of Giza 88, 25 tonnes of Giza 87 and 225 tonnes of Giza 86, an official from Alcotexa told Reuters.

The new commitment brings Alcotexa's export commitments for the 2008/2009 season, which began in September, to 22,607 tonnes of cotton worth $57.57 million, the official said.
