S.Africa's Pamodzi says one miner killed at its mine

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa's Padmozi Gold said on Thursday one miner was killed at its East Rand operations in the country.

"A full investigation has been launched into the accident, in conjunction with the Department of Minerals and Energy, to confirm the cause of the accident," it said in a statement.

The company identified the employee as Jose Albino Mugabe, a locomotive guard.

It said Mugabe died on Wednesday night after sustaining fatal injuries when he was struck underground by a hopper at K12 cross-cut working place.
