S.Africa union says worker killed at AngloGold mine

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa's National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) said one worker was killed and two others seriously injured at AngloGold Ashanti's Tautona mine on Thursday.

"A mineworker has this afternoon at around two o'clock lost his life at AngloGold Ashanti`s Tautona mine in Carletonville while two others have been seriously injured," NUM said in a statement.

"This accident happened due to a seismic event at the mine. The seismic event weighs 1.8 on the richter scale."
