Egypt minister see jobless rate rising but not to 10 pct

ROME (Reuters) - Unemployment in Egypt will rise from the 8.8 percent it registered in Q4 of 2008 but won't reach 10 percent, the country's manpower minister said on Tuesday.

Asked on the sidelines of a labour ministers conference in Rome about whether unemployment will rise, Aisha Abdel Hadi said: "Without a doubt, the crisis has an enormous effect on industry and jobs."

Asked if will it reach 10 percent, she said: "We will not reach 10 percent".
